I designed this Speed Puff Crochet Washcloth Pattern this week. I wanted something with texture, but not too much. This stitch pattern fit the bill and was quick to whip up.
It’s got a bit of nubbiness from the speed puffs and yet it is open enough to absorb water. The end product is something soft enough for a baby’s bath, but sturdy enough for the kitchen.
The speed puff stitch has a jaunty tilt that makes an interesting repetitive pattern; somewhere between a shell and a bobble. In the odd rows I used a simple filet technique across that opened up the pattern to allow for easy absorption of water.
I used an H hook with all-cotton yarn. The Speed Puff Crochet Washcloth Pattern was a fast and blissful project. My only problem is choosing which colors to use next. 🙂 Happy crocheting! – Laura
